New Book: HUMOR - "Devilish Deeds of an Absentminded, Lovable Lout" by Chris Slatsky at http://www.selfpublishedbookstore.com

Chris Slatsky grew up in the suburbs of Birmingham, Alabama, in the late 1960s in a small community named Minor. As a little boy, he ran as fast as his little legs will carry him, finding adventure everywhere. He tried to be a mini-version of his father, mimicking his every action and sticking up for his family's Catholic beliefs. In high school, he enjoyed wrestling, even though he hardly ever won a match. He hung out with his two best friends, Jed and Jay, and they spent countless days playing pranks and getting in trouble. Before entering graduate school, he met a woman with strawberry blonde hair in church. He learned her name is Sandy and asked her to go to the zoo with him; more than twenty years later, they are still together. Since the day they met, she has relished his folly, and to this day, they playfully engage in flirty competitions for supremacy. But you'll have to read Devilish Deeds of an Absentminded, Lovable Lout to discover who's currently on top in their ongoing competition.

Revelation 5

Then I saw a scroll in the right hand
Of him who sat upon the throne
There was writing on both sides
And with seven seals it was sewn

I saw a mighty angel
He ask in a loud voice
Who is worthy to open the scroll?
Who will make that choice?

But no one in heaven or on earth
Or under the earth could do it
Then I wept because no one
Could open the scroll and view it

Then one of the elders said “Do not cry!
See, Judah's Lion and David's Root
He has triumphed
His strength is beyond repute.

He can break the seals
And take the scroll in hand
Then I saw a Lamb walk out
And in the thrones center stand

Encircled by the elders
And the four living creatures
Looking as if it had been slain
The Lamb with amazing features

He had seven horns and eyes
Which looked rather odd
Then I was told the horns and eyes
Were the seven spirits of God

He came and took the Scroll
From the one on the throne
For only he could take it
Just he alone

VerseryRhymes: The Gospels

I am translating the New Testament verse-by-verse in Rhyme. I have finished the Gospels, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, James and Revelation. I will blog a portion daily. I also run a website: Selfpublishedbookstore.com where I market and sell the books of over 50 authors. I will also share excerpts from some of their books.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit
And blessed are those who grieve
For the kingdom of heaven is theirs
And comfort they’ll receive

Blessed are the meek
Although they feel they have no worth
God will show them favor
And they will inherit the earth

Blessed are those who desire what is right
Fulfillment they will find
Blessed are those who show mercy
For they shall be treated in kind

Blessed are the pure in heart
It is God they will view
And you will be called sons of God
If peace is what you pursue

Blessed are those who are persecuted
For what they know is right
They may insult and ridicule you
And falsely seek to indict

Rejoice and be glad because in heaven
Great is the reward you are due
For in the same way they also persecuted
The prophets who were before you”
